Senior HR Advisor

MZ Mining is a mineral sands mining company focused on the production of heavy mineral concentrate (HMC) in the Murray Basin in South Australia. The Company’s principal asset is the Mindarie Mineral Sands Project located 150km east of Adelaide in the Mallee region of South Australia with a Head Office in Adelaide.

This role, based at the Mindarie site provides the opportunity to be in this pivotal role in this exciting project. 

Duties:

  • Change management is an essential part of this role. Adjustments to the workforce will be required as approved operations are completed, and again as new approvals are received.
  • Manage the recruitment process from the development of position descriptions, advertising roles, pre-screening, support for interviews, arranging psychometric testing, and drafting of contracts for approval.
  • Coordinate the onboarding of new employees.
  • Become familiar with Employment Hero, updating employee changes, policy management, maintaining onboarding activities, and providing assistance to employees in its use.
  • Investigate policy or procedure breaches and make recommendations on appropriate course of action.
  • Respond to grievances raised by employees, in conjunction with the Safety Manager.
  • Liaise with payroll and provide a conduit for payroll issues raised.
  • Ensure HR actions are carried out – probationary reviews, performance reviews, salary reviews.
  • Liaise with Site Administrators and Corporate Services Coordinator to ensure seamless processes for all employees.
  • Assisting with Return-to-Work coordination.
  • Other duties that will arise.

 

About You:

  • There is a preference for HR tertiary qualifications.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role in the mining industry.
  • Previous experience on a site, which has had organisational changes is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with Employment Hero is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft packages.
  • Ability to multi-skill and react quickly to organisational changes.
