Safety Advisor

Duties:

A dynamic environment is a big driver in this role. As we move through decommissioning everyday will involve different tasks and the need to plan how to execute them safely.

  • Work with the site leadership team to develop and instill a workplace culture of best practice and positive safety culture.
  • Support and drive compliance with health and safety policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Lead or assist in the investigation of incidents and near misses.
  • Conduct internal audits and contribute to corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure Training and Licensing records are added to Skytrust and kept up to date.
  • Coordinate both off and on-site training to close gaps and maintain site requirements for a trained and skilled workforce.
  • Perform data analysis and provide proactive recommendations to prevent incidents and workplace injuries.
  • Work with managers on the floor to ensure everyone is engaged around safety.
  • Assisting with Return-to-Work coordination.
  • Other duties that will arise.

 

About You:

  • A minimum of Cert IV in WHS.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role in the mining industry.
  • Previous experience on a site during construction or decommissioning is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with Skytrust is an advantage.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft packages.
  • Ability to multi-skill and react quickly to a dynamic environment.
